Founder of Garrett Off-Road Racing, Poucher’s eye for talent started in the mirror and extended across America to form this unstoppable team! His race career has been relatively short – starting to compete in his 30’s in 2015. But he hit the ground running, collecting accolades in just a few years, such as multiple podium finishes and championships in the SCORE International Off-Road Racing Series, victories at the 2016 San Felipe 250 and 2017 BAJA RALLY, as well as a formidable Top 30 finish at the 2019 Dakar Rally.
Racing runs through his veins. Following his grandfather and father’s desert racing footsteps, Howes ventured onto a dirt course at an early age, rapidly climbing the ranks.
In 2018, he joined the GORR team and turned his attention to Rally Raid, winning his first (Sonora Rally) and second (BAJA RALLY) ever navigation events before flying south to compete at the Dakar Rally. He has since left his mark on every desert and rally race he’s challenged.
One of the first additions to the team, his passion for motorcycles and racing has developed into a full-time job, working at Veys Powersports for some time. In 2018, his efforts helped the team land 3rd overall in the SCORE International Off-Road Racing Series.
Proudly representing his Mexican heritage on racecourses all over North America, he’s constantly pushing his limits and reaching higher towards new competitive goals. As a result, Valenzuela moved to Mexicali to focus on his family and training even harder for the desert race circuit.
She began riding in February 2014 and started racing at Tulie MX in New Mexico by March 2015. Shortly thereafter, Karcz changed gears to desert racing taking on Gas It Offroad that July. Her drive, work ethic and positive attitude helped her finished 2nd Overall Women’s C class in 2016, moving up to B in 2017 when she also began racing with NHHA (National Hare and Hound).
In 2018, Liz became the first woman to solo the entire SCORE International Off-Road Racing Series on a dirt bike [in the ProMoto Ironman class]. And she won’t stop there.
Riding dirt bikes since a young age, in 2015 East began desert racing at age 11 – finding his passion and gaining a great deal. Not long thereafter, he clinched the 2017 AMA D37 SuperMini Championship.
The National Hare and Hound was his focus for the following year, again winning the SuperMini Championship. Grateful for the opportunities he’s had so far, young East is ready for the 2019/20 season.
One of the youngest members on the team, McPherson is a natural on a dirt bike. But he doesn’t rely on his talents alone, training during any free moment away from school and family – the latter who supports his every race effort.
Competition began for him when he was about 5 years-old at the USRA Season Opener in Mesquite, NV. Since, he’s had many “mini” overall wins and, now riding with the Big Boys, McPherson has had several Top 10 national finishes, a Pro overall win at the USRA and plans to race the 250 Pro Class, NHHA, WORCS and Big 6.
Guard grew up desert racing on the west coast. He focused on chasing the AMA National Hare & Hound series until his 2015 championship win. Upon completion of this goal, he changed his direction and decided to focus on the World Off Road Championship Series (WORCS).
He also competed in a variety of desert races throughout these last couple years including the Baja 500, Baja 1000, and BEST IN THE DESERT’s Vegas to Reno. The short term goals he has his eye on are achieving a Top 5 in the NHHA Open championship and a win at the BITD, both in the Open Pro class.
